Our dogs

I was a teenager when I had the first dog of my own, a German Shepherd. My first whippet or actually 11 whippets arrived few years later when I heard that a whippet bitch with 10 newborn puppies was desperately seeking a new home. That's how I finally got to know this fascinating breed.

That bitch with 10 puppies was Sopisco Sohvi " Sussi ", a very charming personality. I learned that her dam was INT CH Sopisco Sähly and sire from Ann Knight's Dondelayo lines. Sussi gained her FIN CH and was Whippet Veteran of the Year when 7 years of age. She was very eager in racing and coursing but not fast enough for the champion title. Despite of being a bit slow in race or coursing competition she caught several rabbits during her lifetime!

My first whippet litter ( Besties C-litter ) was Sussi's third and last. She is a dam of 3 litters and altogether 30 puppies! I guess that must be some kind of a record among whippets?

Sussi's heritage goes on with Besties-breeding. Her daughter Iines is the dam of Besties F-litter and Softrack A-litter. Most new Besties generations go back to Sussi.

At home we have Sussi's granddaughter Finni ( Besties Fortuna ) and her daughter Ronja ( Besties Galatea ) together with Daami (Tuulikellon Daamico). Pipsqueak Hymyhuuli, originally co-owned with her breeder Tuija Elomaa, seemed to prefer more peaceful lifestyle and therefore keeps company to my grandmother with our Swedish import Macawe Moon Princess Leia.

My husbands dream come true, a Rottweiler bitch called Hantta, was the guardian of our house. After Hantta our house is protected by a cane corso bitch Unico D-Fence.
